Come join the Spanish Department for a talk by Colombian scholar, poet, and storyteller Yesenia Escobar Espitia on Monday, April 6th at 5:00pm in Old Library 224. (In Spanish)
Yesenia Escobar is a poet, storyteller, and teacher-researcher on Afro-Colombian literature and culture. She has published two books of poetry: Anoche so帽茅 con cocodrilos and Ensue帽o negro del 脕frica m铆a, as well as two children's books: Mam谩 Av贸 and 驴En d贸nde est谩s, Masmelo? Escobar will talk about the voice of the ancestors in Afro-Latin American women writers from Colombia, Brazil, and the Caribbean, and will read from her own poetry.
